Saffron sharbat is a very popular cool summer drink in Afghanistan, made with mango or other seasonal fruit. Alcohol is not common nowadays, so if you visit you will not be able to drink a cocktail, at least not in public places. This recipe is perfect for making at home 🙂

Prep:  5mins /  Level: Easy  /  Serves 2

  • 45ml white rum, if you prefer a mocktail use ginger ale instead of white rum.
  • 10ml lemon juice
  • 1 cup mango chopped (you can also use frozen mango)
  • ½ tsp. MantoeTM saffron threads crushed
  • Ice cubes,
  • Mint and mango wedges to serve

1. Blend all ingredients (except the garnish – ice cubes, mint etc.) until smooth.

2. Strain into 2 glasses filled with ice cubes, and garnish with a mango wedge and mint.
